I produce the Denver/Colorado installment of the 48 Hour Film Project (http://www.48hourfilm.com/denver/) and as the school year comes to an end, we are gearing up for the opening of registration for the event.
The event has over the last few years become an important element within the Colorado film/video community. Filmmakers of all different experiences and abilities gather to share their vision/insight and in turn, create a stronger network. Students have played an important role in and benefited from this growth. I want to make sure your students are aware of the opening of registration on May 25th and the upcoming event July 30th-August 1st. The filming portion of the event is followed by two public screenings. The first is the Gala Premiere at the Gothic Theatre on August 8th and the Best Of Screening will be at the Starz Filmcenter on September 11th.
While I know finals are nearly here and that things are busy, is there a way to get event information out to the students via email or otherwise? Please let me know. I would be most appreciative and happy to help in any way. Generalized information about the event is below.
Thank you.
Kristin Nolan

The 48 Hour Film Project is:
An intense, wild and sleepless weekend during which teams comprised of amateur/professional filmmakers, musicians, theater groups, students, artists and other interested humans write, shoot, edit and score a film 4-7 minutes in length.
The Denver installment of the 48 Hour Film Project will take place Friday, July 30th - Sunday, August 1st. The event will be followed by a Gala Premiere of participant films at the Gothic Theatre on Sunday, August 8th. The overall winner from Denver will be included in the 48 Hour Film Project's national screening where it will compete for additional prizes amongst national and international participants from over 70 cities. Denver's 2008 Winner went on to win the HD Panasonic Showdown and the 2009 winner received accolades from around the globe.
Entry is first come, first serve. We reached team capacity prior to the the event last year and registration had to be shut down, so I encourage you to take advantage of the early bird pricing and sign up as soon as registration opens on May 25th.
