ATLANTIC
FILM FESTIVAL
Halifax, Nova Scotia - CANADA
September 16 to 25, 2010
In the Spotlight this week is the 30th Annual ATLANTIC FILM FESTIVAL (AFF), proudly celebrating a landmark anniversary as a world-class, cultural mainstay in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a city that provides a quaint and alluring metropolitan backdrop to one of the best-kept secrets on the international festival circuit.
As one of Canada's oldest and most prestigious festivals, the AFF is large enough to attract the world's most notable actors, directors, and producers, yet intimate enough to provide a meaningful, unpretentious atmosphere in which to forge real connections with the international artistic community. AFF has attracted many celebs over the years, including Ellen Page, Thom Fitzgerald, Jonathan Caouette, Mike Clattenburg, Olympia Dukakis, Michael Moore, Chloƫ Sevigny, and more. AFF spans ten days, and offers attendees the opportunity to take in great films, rub elbows, and enjoy performances from emerging recording artists.
Filmmakers are warmly welcomed, and are truly amongst friends at AFF; staff and volunteers provide personalized and attentive service, and filmmakers enjoy full access to films and festivities, including the popular Industry Sessions and Music & Image Conference Series. Panels, discussions, master classes, keynotes, luncheons and one-on-one meetings are designed to encourage artists and industry professionals to explore issues relevant to the film, TV, and music industries, develop their craft, network with peers, and explore opportunities within the constantly evolving marketplace.
